About Us

The primary role of the Office of Government Relations and Advocacy is to advocate on behalf of the University of Pittsburgh by forging and maintaining positive relationships with local, state and federal lawmakers and stakeholders.

We work to ensure legislative funding and policy initiatives reflect the needs of our University. Our team tracks legislative and regulatory proposals that could impact Pitt, its students, faculty, employees, alumni or its ability to conduct world-class research.

We serve as the primary liaison between the University and elected officials and government agencies. We manage communications with elected officials and act as a resource for their offices and other government agencies. We also coordinate requests for legislative information, facilitate required reporting, and partner with units across the University to coordinate outreach or advocacy activities involving elected officials.
